Shell and Team Penske
Shell and Pennzoil continue to support Team Penske entries in the NASCAR Cup Series and the NTT INDYCAR Series, and are the preferred supplier of fuels, lubricants and related products to the global Penske organization.
In early 2017, Shell and Penske Corporation announced a multi-year continuation of their ongoing business, technical and motorsport alliance.
As part of the agreement, Shell and Pennzoil will continue sponsoring Team Penske entries in the NASCAR Cup Series and the NTT INDYCAR Series through the year 2022 and beyond. Shell and Pennzoil will also continue to be the preferred supplier of fuels, lubricants and related products to the global Penske organization.
In 2018, Joey Logano and the No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil Ford team captured the NASCAR Cup Series championship by winning the season’s final race at Homestead-Miami Speedway. It was the first career championship by then 28-year old driver, Logano, and the second title for Penske in NASCAR’s premier series.
Shell also supports Penske teams in the NTT INDYCAR Series, including primary sponsorships on two cars during the prestigious Indianapolis 500. In 2021, two-time INDYCAR champion Josef Newgarden drove the No. 2 Shell V-Power NiTRO+ Chevrolet while newcomer Scott McLaughlin piloted the No. 3 Pennzoil Chevrolet in that marquee race. 2014 champion Will Power and 2016 champion Pagenaud also competed full time in Penske’s powerhouse INDYCAR line-up in 2021.
Through technical partnerships with Ferrari, Ducati and the Shell-Pennzoil team in NASCAR, Shell has the most extreme test.
