What we Look for in a Supplier
We aim to integrate qualified and diverse suppliers into our procurement framework, while also aiding in their readiness to become indispensable contributors to our supply chain. Here are the key attributes that can initiate this process:
Certification
For SHELL's Supplier Diversity Program, we seek businesses certified as minority-owned, women-owned, veteran-owned, LGBTQ+-owned, and disabled-owned enterprises.
Businesses can establish diversity status by receiving a certification with organizations such as:
- Affiliates of the National Minority Supplier Development Council
- Affiliates of the Women's Business Enterprise National Council
- National Veteran-Owned Business Association
- National LGBT Chamber of Commerce
- Disability:IN
We also look for:
- Business Readiness & Relevant Experience: Prospective suppliers are expected to exhibit pertinent experience and business acumen, which can be demonstrated through successful completion of comparable projects, engagement in strategic partnerships, or subcontracting arrangements with reputable primary contractors.
- Demonstrated Profitability & Financial Stability
- A Commitment to Safety: Prioritizing the health and safety of our employees, suppliers, customers, and the environment is paramount. Suppliers are required to showcase a similar corporate culture deeply rooted in safety, reinforced by robust safety protocols and standards.
- Capacity/Scalability: Suppliers must demonstrate the capacity to scale up as needed.
