Geismar Plant
The Shell Geismar Chemical Plant, located on the Mississippi River some 20 miles south of Baton Rouge, began operations in 1967. Approximately 600 Shell employees staff the Geismar Site. A workforce of process technicians, maintenance craftspeople, engineers, chemists, quality assurance technicians and safety, environmental, business and human resources professionals support site operations. In addition, approximately 442 contract employees routinely support the facility.
