Creating Better Futures In Our Communities
Marilee Eerkes: Years ago, our son started a golf tournament in memory of our daughter Laura. We decided Boys and Girls Club was a great place for the proceeds to go.
Craig Eerkes: Our daughter was very passionate about kids. And we looked at areas where we could help and where there was a genuine need and the Boys and Girls Club fit that perfectly.
Brian Ace: This club was intentionally put here to serve those kids in an at-risk neighborhood to be a secondary home. An outlet for their energy. Sun Pacific and the Eerkes family really took the lead on our capital campaign to build this clubhouse.
Chris Eerkes: I watched these kids come in and it's just amazing to see how they’ve bought into this club. How they’ve taken ownership in the club.
Jose Torres: The Boys and Girls Club offers an opportunity for many people to discover who they are and what they want to pursue in life. It was just a great thing knowing that people can accept me for who I am.
Lia Severson: Through my years of coming to the Boys and Girls Club, I’ve really opened up and found who I am as a person. And I want to help make a difference in the world.
Marilee Eerkes: This is a community where people jump in and get involved. In this case, many of them shared their treasures. This was a real ground swell of public help here.
Craig Eerkes: We along with the help of Shell raised four point three million dollars in ninety-three days. It’s really special. We’re the Eerkes family, and together, we’re a force for good.
