What are the tiers?
The Shell Fuel Rewards® member status tiers are Platinum, Gold, and Silver.
All new members receive Complimentary Gold Status with a savings of 5¢/gal for the Introductory Period. After that period, members will need to fill up with at least 10 gallons six times or more during the qualification period to maintain Gold Status. Otherwise, Status moves to Silver with a 3¢/gal savings. To advance to Platinum Status, with a savings of 10¢/gal, members will need to fill up 12 times or 6 fill-ups of Shell V-Power® NiTRO+ Premium Gasoline with at least 10 gallons during the 3-month qualification period.

Platinum Status - Members with Platinum Status save at least 10¢/gal on every fill-up with any fuel type including Shell V-Power NiTRO+ Premium Gasoline.
- This 10¢/gal reward can be combined with other rewards earned through the Shell Fuel Rewards program.
- Platinum Status members will also enjoy more special benefits.
- Earn 2x rewards on select products with In-Store Rewards
- Access to special offers and VIP experiences
- Gold Status – Members with Gold Status save at least 5¢/gal. Shell Fuel Rewards members must complete 6 fill-ups of 10 gallons or more in 3 months to earn Gold Status. Fill-ups with Shell V-Power Nitro+ Premium Gasoline count 2x, so members can earn Gold Status in as little as 3 fills.
- Silver Status - Members that do not earn Platinum or Gold Status will receive Silver Status and save at least 3¢/gal on every fill.
What happens if I lose my Gold Status?
Members who do not qualify for Gold Status will receive Silver Status. Members with Silver Status save at least 3¢ per gallon on every fill. Rewards for Silver Status may also be combined with other rewards earned in the Shell Fuel Rewards program.
I currently have Silver Status. How do I get back to Gold?
As soon as you make 6 fill-ups during your 3-month qualification period, you will instantly regain your Gold Status and will begin saving 5¢ per gallon on every fill. You will keep your Gold Status for the remainder of your qualification period, as well as the next 3-month period. Check the fuelrewards.com home page or download the Shell Fuel Rewards app to determine when your qualification period ends and track your progress towards regaining Gold Status.
How long does my Gold Status last?
New Shell Fuel Rewards members will receive instant Gold Status for the first 6 full calendar months of their membership. For example, if you join on January 1, 2021, you will receive Gold Status through July 31, 2021. The first 3 full months of your membership is your introductory period. You can try out Gold Status, no strings attached. (Ex: January 1–April 30) The second 3 months is your qualification period (Ex: May 1–July 31). You must fill up 6 times during this 3-month period to maintain your Gold Status for the next 3 months. (Ex: August 1–October 1)
How do I maintain Gold Status?
To maintain your Gold Status, you must fill up at least 6 times during your 3-month qualification period (see above). That’s only two times per month. Each fill-up must be at least 5 gallons or more to qualify.
What is Platinum Status?
Platinum Status is the most rewarding tier of the Shell Fuel Rewards® program. Members with Platinum Status earn 10¢/gal savings on every fill-up and 2X on In-Store Rewards on select convenience store items, plus many more exclusive benefits.
How do I get Platinum Status?
To achieve Platinum Status, members must complete 12 fill-ups of main grade or 6 fill-ups of Shell V-Power® NiTRO+ Premium Gasoline of at least 10 gallons during the qualification period.
Does my 5¢ per gallon reward for having Gold and 10¢ for Platinum Status combine with other rewards I earn in the Shell Fuel Rewards program?
Yes, your 5¢ per gallon reward from Gold Status and 10¢ per gallon reward from Platinum Status will stack with other rewards you’ve earned in the Shell Fuel Rewards program.
Is my 5¢ per gallon and 10¢ per gallon reward available on any fuel grade?
Yes, your 5¢ per gallon reward from Gold Status and 10¢ per gallon reward from Platinum is available on any fuel grade, including Shell V-Power® NiTRO+ Premium Gasoline.
Do my savings from Platinum, Gold or Silver Status combine with other rewards I earn?
In most cases, your savings from Platinum, Gold or Silver Status combine with any other Shell Fuel Rewards savings in your account.

What are Qualification and Benefit Periods?
Qualification Periods and Benefit Periods follow a quarterly calendar cycle:
Q1: January – March
Q2: April – June
Q3: July – September
Q4: October – December
Your tier status for an upcoming benefit quarter is determined by your performance in the immediately preceding qualification quarter.
If you meet the requirements for a higher tier at any point within your qualification period, your status will be upgraded immediately. You will maintain this upgraded status for the rest of the current quarter and throughout the next benefit quarter.
If you do not meet the requirements to maintain that tier in the following qualification period, your status will adjust to the tier you qualify for in the next quarter.
