Hurricane Laura - Update #13
August 27, 2020 08:00 AM CST
Shell Deepwater Gulf of Mexico Operations
(ISSUED at 08:00 AM CST) Shell is actively monitoring Hurricane Laura in the Gulf of Mexico. We have safely shut in production at all but one of our nine operated assets in the Gulf of Mexico and have completed the evacuation of all non-essential personnel. All well operations have now been safely secured.
When safe conditions allow, we plan to conduct a flyover of potentially impacted assets to determine what, if any, damage the storm may have caused. We continue to monitor all our assets to ensure we are ready to safely and efficiently resume operations once the storm passes.
As always, the safety of our people, the environment and our assets are Shell’s top priority.
Any personnel moved from, or to, our assets will continue to adhere to our existing strict COVID-19 risk mitigation measures, and all personnel will be required to pass our COVID-19 screening process prior to returning to work offshore.
