October 7, 2020 10:30 AM CST
Shell Deepwater Gulf of Mexico Operations
(ISSUED at 10:30 AM CST) Shell is monitoring Hurricane Delta for potential impacts to its assets and operations in the Gulf of Mexico. As a precautionary measure, Shell has shut in production at all nine of its assets and is evacuating all personnel. We are in the process of safely pausing all drilling operations.
Any personnel moved from, or to, our assets will continue to adhere to our existing strict COVID-19 risk mitigation measures, and all personnel will be required to pass our COVID-19 screening process prior to returning to work offshore. As always, the safety of our people, the environment and our assets are Shell’s top priority.
