If you're trying to add a payment card to your Shell App account but aren't receiving the verification code via SMS, try the following steps to troubleshoot:
1. Check Your Mobile Signal: Ensure your phone has a strong cellular signal. Poor reception may prevent messages from being delivered.
2. Confirm Your Phone Number: Double-check that the phone number entered in the Shell App is correct and active.
3. Restart Your Phone: Sometimes restarting your device can help refresh your network connection and resolve temporary issues.
4. Disable SMS Filtering or Blocking: Make sure your device or mobile carrier isn’t blocking messages from unknown or short-code numbers.
5. Try Again Later: Occasional delays may occur due to network congestion. Wait a few minutes and try resending the code.
6. Update the Shell App: Ensure you're using the latest version of the Shell App. Visit the App Store or Google Play to check for updates.

- Purchasing a Shell eGift Card
You can buy Shell Gift Cards and eGift Cards online at buyshellgiftcards.com, or directly through the Shell App:
- Open the Shell App and tap More icon (• • •) from the bottom menu and select “Shell eGift Cards”.
- Tap "Buy eGift Card +". You’ll be redirected to the Shell Gift Cards website (buyshellgiftcards.com) to complete your purchase.
- Fill out the web form and submit your payment details.
- Once completed, you’ll receive a confirmation email. The eGift Card is typically delivered within 10 minutes, or at the scheduled time you selected during checkout.
- Linking Your Shell eGift Card
After receiving your confirmation email, follow these steps to link your eGift Card in the Shell App:
- Open the Shell App and tap More icon (• • •) from the bottom menu.
- Select "Shell eGift Cards", then tap "Add eGift Card".
- Enter the Card Number and PIN found in your confirmation email.
- Tap "Add Shell eGift Card" to complete the process. Once added, your card balance will appear on the screen, along with a confirmation message.

If you haven’t received your confirmation email within the expected time:

What are the types of payment and wallet accepted in the Shell App?
The following types of payment are now available in the Shell App:
Shell Branded Cards
- Shell Platinum Select Master Card
- Shell Drive for Five
- Shell | Fuel Rewards Master Card
- Shell | Fuel Rewards Card
Shell S Pay or Mobile Checking (Checking Account)
With Shell S Pay, all you need to do is link your checking account to the Shell App.

Mobile Wallets
- Apple Pay
- Samsung Pay
- Google Pay
Card On File (COF) – Credit or Debit – Most Visa, Master Card, Discover, and American Express cards can be linked.
Shell eGift Card- Virtual Shell eGift Cards that customers can use to pay for shell App purchases.

How do I make a payment using the Shell App?
How do I make a payment using the Shell App?
A. To make your payment at the pump, open your Shell App and follow these steps:
Step 1: Tap "Pay" button and click on “Pay at the pump” on the payment screen.
Step 2: Enter the pump number.
Step 3: Verify your details such as the fueling value and mode of payment that you would like to use. Once verified, click "Make payment".
Step 4: Authorize payment details. Enter your payment pin. The type of payment authorization required depends on the payment method that is used. In any case, it will either be via the 4-digit PIN or with a biometric input (fingerprint or face ID)
Step 5: Once transaction has been authorized, you may start fueling at the pump.
Step 6: After you are done fueling, a digital receipt will be available in the Shell App.
B. You can purchase fuel and or/snacks inside the convenience store using your Shell App.
To make a payment inside a Convenience store, open your Shell App and follow these steps:
Step 1: Tap "Pay" button and click on “Pay inside” on the payment screen.
Step 2: Let the cashier know you're paying by card. When prompted, scan the QR code from your Shell App to complete the transaction.
Step 3: After you are done fueling, a digital receipt will be available in the Shell App.

How do I link my checking account to the Shell App?
There are two ways to link your checking account:
Option 1: During Registration or Sign-In
If you've just registered or signed back in, you'll be prompted on the Pay screen to add or change your payment method.
- Tap "View Other Options" or "Change" to go to the Payment Methods screen.
Option 2: From the Menu
- Tap More icon (• • •) from the bottom menu and select Payment Methods.
Steps to Add Your Checking Account
- Tap "Add Payment Method +" and select "Mobile Checking".
- You’ll be redirected to the S-Pay Enrollment Page. Complete the two-step form with your personal information.

On the third step, choose how you'd like to link your checking account:
- Instant: Securely log in via the Plaid platform to connect your account and start transacting immediately.
- Manual: Enter your routing and account numbers to connect manually. Transactions will be available within a few days.
