Shell Norco Fulfills Wishes for Three Local Children

Norco raised over $51,000 during its Back in Black turnaround—tied to strong safety performance—to fund Make‑A‑Wish trips for three local children: Allison, Shelby, and Zayden. The kids enjoyed Disney vacations and were given special “bon voyage” gifts. VP Tammy Little said the partnership inspires the team to work safely while bringing joy to families.

Allison, Shelby, and Zayden know that wishes come true. Their dreams of Disney adventures are fulfilled. In partnership with Make-A-Wish, Norco raised more than $51,000 during the site’s recent Back in Black turnaround to fund the wishes of three critically ill, local children. The donation is based on safety performance, along with individual and contractor contributions, during the scheduled inspection and maintenance event. Each OSHA-free workday and safety observation provided dollars for the kids' wishes.

In addition to their Disney adventures, Norco provided “bon voyage“ gifts to the kids including luggage, age appropriate gifts, and snacks for the journey. “I can't think of a better way for us to be motivated to work safe in big events than the opportunity to give the gift of joy and laughter,“ said VP Tammy Little, noting the partnership with Make-A-Wish.

Allison's Wish?

A Disney World vacation and a photo with Stitch! Allison is a 14-year-old from Jefferson Parish, who battles an endocrine disorder. Although she is non-verbal, her parents and sisters know from her smiles that she enjoyed all the attractions, especially the carousel. Allison’s royal wave was an enthusiastic imitation of her favorite Disney princesses.

Shelby's Wish?

A magical journey aboard a Disney Cruise! The 6-year-old from Harahan, who was diagnosed with leukemia, enjoyed character meet-and-greets on deck, zoomed down water slides, and soaked up every moment of fun and adventure on the high seas.

Zayden's Wish?

A family vacation to Disney World! For an entire week, the 7-year-old from Norco, who is recovering from a brain tumor, explored whimsical parks, experienced cool rides, enjoyed fireworks above Cinderella’s Castle, ate cotton candy, and relaxed in his own private villa at Give Kids the World Village - an enchanted escape created just for kids like him!
