Occupational Summary

Maintenance planners in the petrochemical industry work closely with other operational groups to balance output needs with ensuring equipment reliability through proactive maintenance. The goal is to plan maintenance activities to enhance safety, increase equipment longevity and improve productivity.

Planners develop the overall maintenance plan, oversee its execution, coordinate among all the affected departments and troubleshoot issues, working with maintenance schedulers who set daily maintenance schedules. You also are responsible for ensuring standards compliance for critical equipment and documenting and reporting work to meet regulatory requirements.

Minimum Requirements

Two-year degree associate degree or equivalent work experience; CMRP certification preferred. Equivalent years of military service may be acceptable, in lieu of experience.
