Q. What is the new feature in the Shell app?
A: We have added additional forms of payment to Shell Pay & Save. Now, in addition to Chase Pay®, customers can add most credit and debit cards directly to the app or they can use Shell S Pay to link to a checking account. Shell mobile payment continues to be integrated with the Fuel Rewards® program, offering you the ability to easily pay and save in one mobile transaction.

Q. How do I register for Shell Pay & Save? How do I sign up for the Fuel Rewards® program?
A. Download the “Shell US” app in the Apple or Google app stores and select “Create account” as prompted. Within the registration process, you will need to sign up for both Shell mobile payment and the Fuel Rewards® program. If you are already a Fuel Rewards® program member, you will be prompted to link your existing Fuel Rewards® account during registration.

Q. Where is Shell Pay & Save accepted? Is it accepted at every Shell location?
A: Shell mobile payment is accepted at participating Shell locations across the United States. Participating locations are identified on the Shell station locator available within the Shell app and on the Shell US website.

Q. Can I earn extra Fuel Rewards® savings by using mobile payment within the Shell app?
A: Yes, you earn 25¢/gal in Fuel Rewards® program savings* when you download the Shell App, and make your first Shell mobile pay fill up (min 5-gal) by 12/31/18. You also earn an extra 5¢/gal in Fuel Rewards® program savings* when you make four mobile pay fill ups within 30 days (min 5-gal each).
*Requires active Fuel Rewards® account, savings may be redeemed at participating Shell stations only. Limit 20 gal. Fuel Rewards® savings earned expire on the last day of the month one month after they post to your Fuel Rewards® account. Visit here for terms and conditions.

Q. What forms of payment can be used with Shell mobile payment?
A: Now, you can choose your preferred payment method including the option to link a Mastercard, Visa, Amex or Discover credit/debit card or your US-based checking account. Simply follow the steps outlined to link to your preferred payment method and you are on your way to Pay & Save at Shell!

Q. How do I use Shell mobile pay inside a Shell convenience store?
A. Click on “Pay in the shop” on the payment screen, confirm payment, and the app will generate a QR code. Please hold QR code up to the 2D scanner at the register inside the convenience store. You do not have to select anything on the Shell pin pad to process the transaction, however if prompted, please select “No Loyalty” or “Pay Now” on the pin pad to ensure your transaction is successful.

Q. How do I use Shell mobile payment outside at the pump?
A: Click on “Pay at the pump” on the payment screen, enter your pump number, and confirm payment. A three digit authorization code will appear in the app for you to enter into the dispenser. Please leave your phone in your vehicle, and DO NOT USE YOUR PHONE ON THE FORECOURT to ensure your safety.

How do I find a Shell Charge Location?
You can find our public Shell Recharge charging locations and roaming partner stations in the Shell app “Locations” menu.

What levels of EV charging does Shell offer?
Shell Recharge offers both Level 2 destination charging and Level 3 direct current (DC) fast charging. Our chargers are compatible with Tesla vehicles, but drivers must provide their own adapter.
Shell Energy also offers a 100% renewable consumer electricity plan for home charging.

Which connectors are available at Shell Charge Locations?
Depending on the power level of the charger, Shell Recharge locations offer CCS, CHAdeMO, or SAE J1772 plugs. Please use the station finder in the Shell app to see which plugs are available at each Shell Recharge location. In addition, our roaming partners included in the Shell app also support most of these connector types.

How do I use the app to start/stop charge sessions?
- Make sure your vehicle is ready to begin charging.
- Launch the Shell app, toggle to the EV profile, and select “Charge.”
- Select a connector via the app and confirm payment details.
- Plug the connector into your EV.
- When finished charging, select “Stop Charging,” and disconnect the plug from your vehicle.

What are the phone requirements?
The Shell app is available for iPhone (iOS 13+) and Android (OS 7.0+) smartphones.

How can I use the Shell app at another network’s station?
You can charge at one of our roaming partners’ charging stations using the same process you use to charge at a Shell Recharge location:
- Launch the Shell app and toggle to the EV profile.
- Find one of our roaming partners’ charging stations via the location finder feature in the Shell app.
- Make sure your vehicle is ready to begin charging
- Select “Charge”
- Select a connector via the app
- Confirm your payment details
- Plug the connector into your EV
- When finished charging, select “Stop Charging,” and disconnect the plug from your vehicle.
