The Shell Graduate Program
Downstream Commercial, within the Commercial area of the Shell Graduate Program, is a hands-on three-year training program that consists of two 18-month job rotations. As a commercial graduate you will discover a new world of industry commerce on the Program, which will provide you with the opportunity to work in field, operational or analytical roles in different areas of our business. You could also find yourself monitoring marketing activity, developing value propositions for customers or developing and maintaining excellent customer relationships.

“The favourite bit about my job is the unpredictability. Every day you meet a different challenge, which actually really keeps you on your toes. I sit in a global role. When you’re looking at global projects it’s all about studying and reviewing our business and looking where we’re performing well, where we’re not performing well and the reasons behind that.”

“Since I won I really got involved in the graduate network within Shell. We create our own calendar of events, we have a budget that we can use. We do workshops on hard skills or soft skills, some charities and some sport events and as well some social.”

Training and development
You'll be provided with a solid training framework combining classroom and online learning with coaching and mentoring. You'll have regular development checks, along with continued specialist training in marketing, pricing, retail, and leadership development. The Shell Graduate Program will give you as an inquisitive, talented individual the support you need to become an accomplished professional. By putting your commercial capabilities to the test you'll be helping to improve the way we operate on the global and local market.
