Interview with Paula Tongue
Macro Distributor Business Development
“The favourite bit about my job is the unpredictability. Every day you meet a different challenge, which actually really keeps you on your toes. I sit in a global role. When you’re looking at global projects it’s all about studying and reviewing our business and looking where we’re performing well, where we’re not performing well and the reasons behind that.”

“The impact that you can see from my job is long term but when you see those results implemented locally you actually feel great satisfaction.”

“A lot of my job has to do with what we drive together as a team. You’re always connecting with everyone. I talk to people who sit in Singapore and Houston. Everyone is always willing to help and to give their input, really.”

“Since I won I really got involved in the graduate network within Shell. We create our own calendar of events, we have a budget that we can use. We do workshops on hard skills or soft skills, some charities and some sport events and as well some social.”
