After 18 months, the Big Energy special exhibit at the San Jacinto Monument closed in January 2020 to make room for a new exhibit exploring the construction of the San Jacinto Memorial Monument.

Shell is excited to partner with the Deer Park Education Foundation to once again make our shared history available to the students of Deer Park ISD.

Since the establishment of Shell in Deer Park in 1929, the company and the city have grown up together and have forged a special bond that continues to this day. Through the years, the people of Deer Park powered progress locally by building a strong community and creating an environment for commerce to thrive on a global scale.

In the coming months, students visiting DPISD’s Outdoor Learning Center will have the chance to explore the history of their city thought interactive games and a digital library showcasing many of the people and organization which founded Deer Park, and watch how our city and the Shell site has grown over the years.
