Hurricane Francine - Update #5
September 12, 2024 10:00 CST
Shell Gulf Coast
(ISSUED AT 10:00 CST) Shell is actively monitoring conditions in the wake of Hurricane Francine in the Gulf of Mexico.
Because of downstream issues, we have had to curtail production at Appomattox, Mars, Vito, Ursa, and Olympus.
We have begun redeploying personnel to our Perdido asset, while production there and at our Auger and Enchilada/Salsa assets is still shut in. Drilling remains paused at our Whale asset, scheduled to begin operations later this year.
We are conducting damage assessments, and all offshore personnel are safe and accounted for.
As conditions continue to improve, we will begin the process of redeploying personnel to Auger and Enchilada/Salsa to bring staffing to normal operating levels.
Later today we will provide an update on our onshore assets in Louisiana.
As always, the safety of our people, the environment and our assets are Shell’s top priority.
