Shell Scholarship Opportunities for High School Seniors
Shell is pleased to announce two scholarship programs which focus on developing talent in the engineering and geosciences fields.
The 2014-15 Shell Oil Company Technical Scholarship and 2014-15 Shell Incentive Fund Scholarship have been created to provide financial and career assistance to graduating high school seniors who have expressed an interest in the energy industry and demonstrated an aptitude in mathematics and science.
In each program, Shell will sponsor up to 20 one-year awards of $2,500 for selected graduating high school seniors enrolling in engineering or geosciences at universities identified by Shell. Upon successful completion of first year studies and other criteria established by Shell, the recipient may be eligible to apply to receive a four-year renewable award of $5,000 annually.
Freshmen, who received the one-year Shell Scholarship for High School Seniors and apply for a renewed scholarship, will be required to successfully complete the Shell online application, all components of the Shell assessment process and either a face-to-face or telephone interview during their sophomore year.
These scholarship programs support Shell’s objective of helping to ensure a qualified workforce in engineering and geosciences disciplines in future years. Workforce development is one of the highest priorities at Shell. Competition for talent is growing and Shell will be at the forefront in identifying young people with the skills to succeed by assisting with scholarships and providing exposure to career opportunities at the company.
