The camera looks along a residential street, lined with green trees on a sunny day. A blue van with yellow writing drives along the road as the camera pans down. Then a close-up shot of the van’s keys in the ignition. They have a blue keyring with yellow writing on it saying, ‘Oldatt & Sons Plumbing.’

Fictional Dramatization.

[Background music plays]

Fast-moving synthesized strings play with a repetitive motif.

Close-up shot of a rubber duck on the dashboard of the parked van. A man with a beard and the company’s plumbing logo on his t-shirt opens the door of the vehicle and takes a clipboard from the dashboard. Then footage of the back of the van, where the doors are open to show a range of plumbing tools. A second worker takes a toolbox from the van, as his colleague joins him with the clipboard.

[Audio]

The workers chat quietly.

Close-up shot from inside a cupboard. We see the plumber with the beard looking at the pipes beneath a sink as he shines a torch towards them while water drips from the pipes. Footage then cuts to the kitchen outside of the cupboard, where a child brings a toolbox to the worker beneath the sink. The second plumber talks to a woman in the background. Then more footage from inside the cupboard, where the child watches the plumber as he moves a wrench towards the dripping pipes.

It may not look like it, but this is actually progress at work.

Bird’s eye view of the plumbers’ van parked in a charging bay between two other vans. Then a mid-range shot of the plumber as he waves to a woman who is standing near a florist’s van. Extreme close-up of the charging nozzle going into the charging point of the van, as a digitalized trail of yellow light traces the outline of the Shell pecten in the center of the screen. The background picture changes to a Shell Recharge point with a red and yellow Shell pecten logo and a digital screen showing the EV work van is charged.

Progress at work: moving forward with small businesses

Restocking grocery shelves to keep neighborhood stores running, delivering birthday flowers on time or answering the call when a clogged sink is interrupting dinner plans. That’s what keeps small businesses ticking - doing right by their customers, employees, and the communities they serve.

In a world where electric vehicles (EVs) are becoming more accessible, some small businesses are looking for options other than gasoline-powered vehicles to keep their businesses moving.

With a long list of ‘to-dos” for small business operators, they need an easier way to make the transition to EVs feasible. For many, home charging isn’t an option, creating a need for more public and faster charging, at the right locations.

The transition to EVs can be difficult to navigate for businesses of all sizes. We’re proud to work with Penske to provide EV charging that can help small businesses.

Daniel Silva, Vice President of Shell Enterprise Accounts

Working together, Shell Recharge and Penske are helping small businesses use EV vans to power their operations today, and providing options for those who want to make the transition to EVs in the future.

Penske leases the EV work vans, which offer full-size commercial capabilities, while Shell Recharge provides the charging stations and software as part of their network of public and private charging points for businesses.
