DBerrier

Our site has seen a lot over the years, but the Moon Landing grasped our employees more than anything. Deer Park Independent School District's Career and Technical Education Director David Berrier spent the summer of 1969 at Shell and remembers:

"During the summer after high school graduation, I was fortunate enough to have a summer job at Shell. Minimum wage was $1.60 per hour and we were thrilled. As a recent high school graduate, I loved working at Shell. It was clean, everyone was friendly and truly cared about you as an employee. There were very memorable moments, probably the most historical was when Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were the first humans to touch the surface of the moon on July 20, 1969. I was at Shell Chemical when that event took place!"
