Tropical Storm Francine- Update #3
September 10, 2024 11:00 CST
Gulf of Mexico
(ISSUED at 11:00 CST) Shell is actively monitoring Tropical Storm Francine. Because of downstream impacts, we have shut in production at our Perdido, Auger, and Enchilada/Salsa assets. At our Whale asset, which is not scheduled to begin operations until later this year, we have safely paused drilling operations.
We have evacuated non-essential personnel at our Enchilada/Salsa and Auger assets.
There are currently no other impacts to our production across the Gulf of Mexico.
Meanwhile, Shell manufacturing sites in Louisiana, Geismar and Norco, are currently operating normally. Deer Park in Texas is also operating normally. However, we continue to monitor the situation closely. We are taking the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of employees and manufacturing processes, so at our Geismar and Norco facilities, only those personnel preparing for landfall and those operating the facilities will report to work on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.
We will continue to monitor weather reports and respond accordingly. As always, Shell’s top priority is the safety of our people, the environment, and our assets.
