Tropical Storm Sally and Tropical Depression #22 - Shell Deepwater Gulf of Mexico Update #1
September 17, 2020 9:00 PM CST
Shell Deepwater Gulf of Mexico Operations
(ISSUED at 9:00 PM CST) As weather conditions improve from Tropical Storm Sally, production at Appomattox is ramping back up and is expected to resume operations as normal tonight.
Meanwhile, Shell is monitoring Tropical Depression #22 for potential impacts to our assets and operations in the Gulf of Mexico. As a precautionary measure, Shell is evacuating non-essential personnel from Perdido in the western Gulf of Mexico. All rigs are monitoring the weather and beginning to secure operations.
Any personnel moved from, or to, our assets will continue to adhere to our existing strict COVID-19 risk mitigation measures, and all personnel will be required to pass our COVID-19 screening process prior to returning to work offshore. As always, the safety of our people, the environment and our assets are Shell’s top priority.
