Hurricane Laura Threat - Update #9
August 25, 2020 10:00 AM CST
Shell Deepwater Gulf of Mexico Operations
(ISSUED at 10:00 AM CST) Shell is actively monitoring Hurricane Laura in the Gulf of Mexico. We have safely shut in production at all but one of our nine operated assets in the Gulf of Mexico and have completed the evacuation of all non-essential personnel. We continue to carefully monitor Laura’s potential impacts to our ninth production asset, Perdido, to determine if a safe shut-in of the facility will be necessary. All well operations have now been safely secured.
As always, the safety of our people, the environment and our assets are Shell’s top priority.
Any personnel moved from, or to, our assets will continue to adhere to our existing strict COVID-19 risk mitigation measures, and all personnel will be required to pass our COVID-19 screening process prior to returning to work offshore.
