Tropical Storm Nate – Update Three
Oct 06, 2017
In preparation for severe weather associated with Tropical Storm Nate, Shell is securing its Mars, Ursa, Olympus and Ram Powell production hubs located in the Eastern Gulf of Mexico. Production is being safely shut in, drilling operations have been suspended and all personnel are returning to shore.
“Our platforms are designed to withstand hurricane force conditions and our employees are trained to take immediate action when necessary to keep each other, the environment and our assets safe,“ said Phil Smith, Shell's Manager for Emergency Management in the Americas.
Shell 's Gulf of Mexico employees will work from our Robert Training Center located in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, and other secure remote locations to monitor our facilities and ensure we are ready to safely and efficiently resume operations after the storm passes.
