Hurricane Harvey – Update Seven
Sep 04, 2017
Workers continue to return to the Perdido spar to perform inspections and test operating systems in anticipation of a safe, restart of the asset after Tropical Storm Harvey.
Well operations have now restarted after a full rig inspection. While there is no specific timeline established for restart of production, it will begin again after all inspections are complete and the pipelines and refineries are back on line to accept product.
The Turritella, Shell’s floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel in the Stones field, was safely and systematically shut in September 3rd due to full crude inventory on board. Offloading has not been possible as the tanker designated to receive the crude has been stuck in port due to unsafe river conditions after TS Harvey. The Turritella will resume production once it is safe for the receiving tanker to transit and crude has been offloaded.
