Tropical Storm Isaac Update #5
Aug 27, 2012
Shell/Motiva Gulf Coast Manufacturing and Distribution Facilities
(This information is up-to-date as of 12:00 p.m. Central, August 27, 2012. Further updates will be provided as needed.)
The Shell and Motiva manufacturing and distribution facilities along the U.S. Gulf Coast are closely monitoring Tropical Storm Isaac and are taking the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of employees and manufacturing processes based on our established storm readiness and response plans.
Manufacturing facilities at Norco, Convent and Geismar, La. and Mobile, Ala. are currently operating at reduced rates, consistent with pre-established hurricane preparation plans. We are following a multi-phase plan that is premised on the projected path and severity of the storm and can be adjusted to fit changing weather conditions.
Shell operated Capline pipeline was shut down on the evening of Aug. 26, and it will resume operations as weather conditions allow.
Motiva and Shell will continue to monitor weather conditions closely and respond to further developments as necessary. Our top priority is the safety of our personnel and the community and to minimize impacts on the environment and to our customers.
