Distribution and Export Manager

With the opening of its new polyethylene plant in Monaca, USA, Shell Polymers has been hiring a team of industry experts, aka Polymer Pioneers and Polymer Pros, who have a proven track record in polyethylene. Distribution and Export Manager Ana Buss shares about her role at Shell Polymers and reveals four words that she believes best describe Shell Polymers.

A Day-in-the-Life of a Distribution and Export Manager

According to Ana, “My day focuses on providing the best experience for my customers and being an ambassador for Shell Polymers to the industry as we prepare to enter the market.

Everyday I work closely with our Customer Center, Supply & Logistics teams to ensure that the needs of our customers are met as well as keep up to date on the latest sustainability initiatives for polyolefins from both Shell and other industry participants.”

"We’ll differentiate ourselves by being highly customer focused and building strategic long-term relationships."

Four Words that Describe Shell Polymers to Ana

  • Bold

Building a world-scale project in a mature market is a bold move.

  • Disruptive

What we’ll be offering in terms of the customer experience is highly differentiated.

  • Technological

We’re implementing state-of-the-art technologies to make it easier to do business with us.

  • Personal

Everyone here, from the technical teams through to the plant and commercial teams, is focused on helping our customers, so there’s a really strong emphasis on establishing personal, long-term relationships.

An Unrivaled Customer Experience

As you know, Shell Polymers intends to disrupt the polyethylene industry by putting the needs of our customers at the center of everything we do. The distribution and export channel for which Ana is responsible is an integral part of this vision because it will enable us to be a strategic participant for customers both large and small across the market.

We’re daring to build a world-scale facility to enter a market alongside long-established competitors, and we’ll differentiate ourselves by being highly customer focused and building strategic long-term relationships.

What excites Ana the most is how Shell Polymers intends to serve the industry better. For example, as well as a state-of-the-art facility that is close to 70% of the plastics converters in North America, we intend to make ordering and logistics easier for customers and to set new standards for supply chain reliability.
