Shell Polymers has taken another step towards the completion of its polyethylene plant in Monaca, PA. Opening the administration building provides a permanent location for the Shell Polymers team to work on-site when the plant is fully operational. This building will be where customers visit when they come on site, making it the first impression they’ll have of Shell Polymers as a whole. That’s why we’ve invested in the space and pride ourselves on creating a place where we can collaborate with customers today, tomorrow, and beyond.

It was no simple task to complete the two-story building that will house hundreds of people in various roles every day. Designed to facilitate a professional environment that improves the working experience of a diverse workforce, the administration building supports the facility’s operations by providing a place for the staff to call home. In addition to offices, this building will also include a wellness area and gym to allow employees to focus on their personal health while at work.

The administration building was the culmination of a multi-disciplinary and multi-company effort that took large teams of experts and coordination to complete.

This is a milestone that a lot of people have been waiting for, and now we’re able to call this building our home.

For converters and others visiting Shell Polymers, this will be the first building they see and where they spend most of their time. Shell Project Director Chris Howell calls it the star attraction of the Shell Polymers site and is proud of the detail behind the facility.

Many members of the Shell Polymers team have been waiting for this milestone to be completed. It’s more than just a checked box on our long list of to-dos though. This building also symbolizes a place to call home and something the team can be proud to show visitors, as well as somewhere they can be happy to show up to and work in. It will quickly become the place customers think of when they want to collaborate with Shell Polymers as we happily invite them to join us on-site.

This is the first thing that a lot of people will see when they come to Pennsylvania Chemicals. It’s the star attraction as you walk onto the site.
