With the opening of its new polyethylene plant in Monaca, Pennsylvania, Shell Polymers has been hiring a team of industry experts, aka Polymer Pioneers and Polymer Pros, who have a proven track record in polyethylene. In this profile, Polyethylene Product Manager Natalie Holmes shares more about her role and four ways in which she believes Shell Polymers will deliver an unrivaled customer experience.
In her role, Natalie manages the polyethylene product portfolio as the plant prepares for startup. This involves determining what grades the plant will produce and optimal margins.

According to Natalie, “We are building this business specifically to meet our customers’ needs. We’ve conducted research with a wide range of potential customers to understand their pain points and are now designing our tools and processes so that we can make their daily lives easier. Shell Polymers has built a team of people from around the polymers industry, which gives us a diverse set of perspectives and a creative approach to solving problems.
From Natalie’s perspective, what sets Shell Polymers apart from other suppliers is its customer centricity. Shell’s location is also really important because we are close to so many potential customers, which allows us to offer them an extremely responsive supply chain. At Shell Polymers, we love being able to offer this level of supply security to our customers.
Natalie enjoys spending her free time traveling as much as she can.
She's been trying to visit as many destinations as possible, and has been to 27 countries and counting.
Some of her favorite places have been Spain, Vietnam, Japan and the Philippines. She especially likes to learn about wines from the different places she visits.
She grew up in Louisiana and is proud of her deep Cajun roots. She loves southern food and has recently been trying her hand at cooking all the Louisiana classics. She's made gumbo and boiled crawfish. Next up is crawfish étouffée!
