Austin Brisco

Customer Relationship Coordinator

With the opening of its new polyethylene plant in Monaca, USA, Shell Polymers has been hiring a team of industry experts, aka Polymer Pioneers and Polymer Pros, who have a proven track record in PE. Customer Relationship Coordinator (CRC) Austin Brisco shares about his role at Shell Polymers and reveals four interesting details about his work.

A Day-in-the-Life of a Customer Relationship Coordinator

In short, a CRC is someone who makes sure customers will be taken care of throughout the ordering process. They establish relationships with customers, so the lines of communication are always open if any issues come up. As Austin says, “My goal is to always be there for customers – to make doing business with Shell Polymers as easy as possible. I’m committed to doing everything I can to meet their needs.”

“I handle the entire order-to-cash process from customer setup all the way to invoicing and collection,” he says. “My normal day includes processing orders, tracking shipments, and working with the account managers to meet the customer’s day-to-day needs while delivering a great customer experience.”

Four Key Elements of Austin’s Role

  • 1. Process and coordinate supply orders.

  • 2. Ensure prompt delivery to customer locations.

  • 3. Verify the quality, quantity and pricing of orders.

  • 4. Work closely with manufacturing to balance the available supply.

An Unrivaled Customer Experience

Austin’s previous position was as a CRC with Shell Chemicals’ Derivatives business. In that role, he supported a large portfolio of key customers by coordinating the shipment of 1,346 railcar and 654 truck shipments, and successfully delivering 264 million pounds of product to 51 locations in one year!

That job also allowed Austin to utilize the latest customer relationship management tools and systems, which is why Shell Polymers tapped his knowledge to develop our own customer operations training and development. When the plant starts up, customers will have a highly-skilled CRC team supporting their business, thanks in part, to Austin.
