Meet Our Pro

Amy Pfendler

With the opening of its new polyethylene plant in Monaca, USA, Shell Polymers has been hiring a team of industry experts, aka Polymer Pioneers and Polymer Pros, who have a proven track record in PE.

A Day-in-the-Life of an Account Manager

Account managers are orchestra conductors who guide the organization’s resources to help deliver a customer’s unrivaled experience. Amy elaborates, “For example, if my customer was wondering if they were running the most appropriate resin, I would likely bring in my colleague for some technical insights. If a customer needed help getting to the bottom of a troubleshooting issue that was proving difficult to resolve, I might turn to Elliot Carnevale.”

“We’re going to be open to exploring alternative ways of doing things.”

How Amy Adds Value for Customers

  • Listening to get insights into the challenges they face.

  • Challenging the status quo and not being constrained by the way things have always been done.

  • Collaborating with customers to co-develop business improvements.

  • Devising creative solutions.

An Unrivaled Customer Experience

As an Account Manager, Amy thinks it’s important to really listen to customers to get an in-depth understanding of the challenges they face. That will enable our team of experts to find ways in which Shell Polymers can help move their businesses forward. We’re keen to bring new, creative solutions to the table and look forward to collaborating with customers to add value to their businesses.

One of Shell Polymers’ key principles is not to be constrained by the way things have always been done. Just because something’s always been done that way, doesn’t mean there isn’t a better way to do it, so we’re going to be open to exploring alternative ways of doing things.

Our location gives us excellent polymer supply security. We are not on the Gulf Coast and therefore we don’t have negative impacts on our delivery during hurricane season.

We also strive to identify ways of working that could add value to your business. Uncovering supply chain efficiencies, introducing creative commercial arrangements or streamlining your ordering processes are key to us adding value.
