BROOKLYN, NY (June 8, 2021) - Electric transportation company Revel announced today that it has contracted with MP2 Energy LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Shell Energy North America (US), L.P., for electricity backed by renewable energy sources through Green-e Certified RECs to power its EV charging Superhubs, rideshare business, and mopeds across the US. Revel is working to ensure that each MegaWatt-hour consumed by its business lines supports renewable energy generation across the country.
"Our mission from the start has been to electrify cities,” said Revel CEO and Co-Founder Frank Reig. “As we build towards this vision, we’re committed to ensuring that the electricity used by our growing line of products is sourced sustainably.”
Twenty-eight percent of U.S. greenhouse gas emissions come from transportation according to the EPA, of which 59% is generated by light duty vehicles.
