To further ensure the timely delivery of your orders, we encourage you to place them via the Shell MarketHub customer portal. Benefits of using Shell MarketHub include easy order entry, product availability verification, order tracking, and access to invoices, to name a few.

As we work to complete the integration of American Chemical Technologies (ACT) into the Shell Lubricants business, our primary goal is for current customers of ACT products to have a great experience with Shell from Day 1. To help ensure our delivery against this goal, we have moved the first date for placing orders via Shell MarketHub from September 1 to October 1, 2020. Please continue placing orders as you have been, using the ACT legacy system.

Shell Lubricants Expands

HOUSTON, TX – [December 19, 2019] – Pennzoil-Quaker State Company dba SOPUS Products, a subsidiary of Shell Oil Company that comprises Shell’s US lubricants business, announced today that it has purchased the assets of American Chemical Technologies, Inc. (ACT), which manufactures and distributes industrial fluids that are based on core glycol chemistries.

The purchase includes ACT’s intellectual property, customer contracts and technology/product pipeline, as well as its two manufacturing facilities in Fowlerville, Mich., and Bowling Green, Ky.

Critical Supplier Statement

As the global impact of COVID-19 evolves, American Chemical Technologies, Inc. (ACT) and Shell Lubricants’1 top priority is putting the safety and health of our people, our customers and partners first, along with the safe operations of all of our businesses.

ACT will continue to operate the Shell Lubricants production facility located in Fowlerville, Michigan (formerly owned by ACT) on Shell’s behalf during Michigan’s shelter-in-place order. This facility manufactures a full line of synthetic lubricants in support of “Critical Manufacturing” as defined by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.

Customer Integration Update

We at Shell Lubricants continue to be excited about our acquisition of the assets of American Chemical Technologies, Inc. (ACT) in December 2019. While the COVID pandemic has affected how we work, our integration of the ACT assets into Shell has continued to move forward quickly. We expect to begin accepting orders for ACT products via the Shell ordering and planning system on September 1, 2020.

We have reached a point in the integration process where we will be engaging you and your teams more frequently to both request needed information and share what will change as you begin doing business with Shell Lubricants directly as of September 1.

We are currently in the process of setting up your business as a customer in Shell’s system, using records from ACT’s system. We are pleased to share that most customers have already been loaded into the Shell system, and we are working to complete the records to be prepared for Sept 1.

As a reminder, because we have different set-up requirements, we will need the documents below to complete set-up and provide a seamless transition. If you have previously sent this information to Shell, thank you and no further action is necessary right now. If you have not submitted this, please do so as soon as possible. As your set-up is completed, we will send out your new account number.
