Shell U.S. Country Chair & President, Shell Oil Company
Bruce was appointed U.S. Country Chair and President of Shell Oil Company in April 2016.
In this role, he is involved in engaging with public, private, media and non-governmental leaders on a wide range of energy policy issues. He is charged with establishing and advocating for innovative, industry-leading solutions for securing safe, stable and sustainable energy sources. Bruce is also accountable for coordinating and aligning the various U.S. businesses to ensure delivery of the country strategy.
He graduated with honors from the University of Alabama in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources Management. Shortly thereafter, he began his 30 plus year career with Shell at the Norco Manufacturing Complex in Louisiana. Since then, he has served in a number of Upstream and Downstream leadership positions of increasing responsibility and scope -- both internationally and in the United States.
Bruce has also led Regional Coordination for Shell in the Americas and currently oversees corporate reputation initiatives and social investment programs in the United States.
Bruce is an avid outdoorsman with a keen interest in land and water conservation. He is a board member of the Greater Houston Partnership, the United Way of Greater Houston, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation and the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation. He also volunteers for a number of other organizations.
Bruce lives in Houston with his wife, Marguerite. They have two children: a daughter, Ashley, and a son, Addison.
