Tsunami precautions at the refinery
Mar 11, 2011
We activated the refinery’s emergency operations center early this morning in order to manage any potential complications related to the tsunami forecast. While no major impact is anticipated, out of an abundance of caution we evacuated our non-essential personnel working at the refinery’s wharf. Shell has a comprehensive system in place for responding to natural disasters, protecting our people and securing our assets. While we don’t anticipate any disruption in our operations, we are taking the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our people and equipment. - Steve
