This morning, the Shell Martinez Refinery hosted the annual State of the City Breakfast in the historic Shell Clubhouse on Pacheco Boulevard.
The breakfast, presented by the Martinez Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of Martinez, drew some 150 people who enjoyed a gourmet breakfast buffet before hearing Martinez Mayor Rob Schroder present his address. Schroder outlined various issues facing the city, including maintenance of the marina, the redevelopment situation in light of Gov. Brown’s proposal to eliminate redevelopment agencies and more.
Police Chief Gary Peterson shared news about his plans for neighborhood policing.
Also at the breakfast, Chamber of Commerce chairperson Marie Knutson spoke about the chamber, which is growing in members and events.
