Flare Work Weekend of Jan. 12
Jan 08, 2015
We wanted to let you know that we will be doing some work on one of our flares over the weekend of Jan. 12 near the Pacheco Blvd. side of the refinery.
A flare is a safety device that is used to combust excess gases and depressurize a unit or piece of equipment in the refinery. The testing of the flare can emit smoke for short periods, and cause some noise and rumbling at times.
We know that can be unsettling, and we plan carefully in an effort to limit it. We encourage you to contact us if you have any questions or concerns while we do this work. Our environmental hotline is (925) 313-3777.
For updates on the refinery, you can visit this blog. You can also follow us on Facebook at “Shell Refinery in Martinez” and on Twitter at Shell_Martinez for the latest updates.
We aim to do projects like this in a way that does not impact our neighbors. Please let us know if we fall short of that goal.
