Staying connected has never been more important, which is why Shell Deer Park teamed up with the Deer Park Chamber of Commerce to launch the Business Growth Series and mobile app.
“Shell Deer Park has provided the Deer Park Chamber of Commerce with essential avenues to bring the business and residential community together,” says Deer Park Chamber of Commerce Director Naomi Richison. “By hosting a workforce education series, we are supplying small-to-moderate sized businesses an opportunity for professional growth at an affordable rate.”
In 2017, the Business Growth Series included a series of workshops covering nine topics to help local businesses develop in various industries. The topics included leadership communications, qualifying candidates, business ambassadors, negotiating success, selling at corporate level, 12 steps to a sales culture, launching a leadership culture, SMART goal setting, and balance on life’s superhighway.
“The participants in the Business Growth Series were able to develop a skill set for personal and business growth which have been otherwise absent, therefore allowing the Deer Park Chamber of Commerce to meet its goal of providing educational and improvement programs for the business community,” Naomi continued.
The Chamber also launched a mobile app called “That’s Deer Park” to connect residents and visitors with all things Deer Park. The app allows people to search for establishments to eat and drink, shop, look for services, places to stay, things to do and access local news and alerts.
“Over 1,000 users have accessed and gained information on a variety of topics; including matters of safety over 12,000 times,” Naomi concluded. “Additionally, the plentiful use of the mobile app helps residents realize the quality service and product providers in their neighborhood, and ultimately helps connect them to the local business community.”
