Ann Pickard, Shell’s Executive Vice President for the Arctic and Alaska, recently presented at the World Petroleum Congress Leadership Conference on Responsibility, Cooperation and Sustainability following the U.S. government’s decision to give conditional go-ahead for Shell to explore for energy resources in the Chukchi Sea off the northwest coast of Alaska.
During her speech, Pickard spoke about the extensive scientific research Shell conducted in Alaska with leading environmental organizations and the local community. She also discussed the lessons Shell learned from its successes and setbacks along with the experiences the company has drawn from its global portfolio of projects.
