Shell and Scuderia Ferrari Welcome F1 to Austin
Nov 10, 2015
A recap of the U.S. Grand Prix
Scuderia Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel finished third at the United States Grand Prix last month in Austin, Texas, but before he took to the Circuit of the Americas course, he helped kick off Formula One weekend at an event hosted by Shell. There, he demonstrated to key media and Ferrari Car Club of America members why the Innovation Partnership between Shell and Scuderia Ferrari is one of the longest running and most successful in Formula One history.
Vettel thrilled attendees as he addressed the crowd and then took to the circuit at Driveway Austin in an F12berlinetta. As the ultimate automotive test bed, Formula One represents the ideal platform for Shell to develop its range of products for the everyday motorist. In fact, Shell V-Power® race fuel used in the Scuderia Ferrari V6 engine contains at least 99 percent of the same types of compounds used in Shell V-Power NiTRO+ Premium Gasoline.
Shell scientists were also on hand to conduct product demos, including a burning valve demonstration that revealed the sponge-like nature of carbonaceous build-up on intake valves and the effect it can have on performance. Many of the scientists who develop products for motorsports also work on their road-going equivalents – ensuring that any technological advantage developed is passed directly through to consumers with products like Shell V-Power NiTRO+ Premium Gasoline.
The day continued as Shell representatives arrived at a local Shell station in the F12berlinetta and handed out Shell V-Power NiTRO+ Premium Gasoline gift cards to unsuspecting customers at the pump. Visit a Shell station today to experience the benefits for yourself by filling up with our premium fuel that simply provides the BEST TOTAL engine protection you can get – straight from one of the most intense, high pressure engineering tests that exists.
Get rewarded at Shell with Instant Gold Status, and save at least 5¢/gal on every fill, every day.
