Operations and Maintenance

In the energy industry, process operators/technicians and maintenance craft disciplines play key roles. With their expertise and knowledge of safety, plant operations, science, technology, math and the maintenance of equipment, these professionals keep facilities running safely and smoothly. They also help keep petroleum byproducts, and chemicals moving in its raw form to manufacture the many finished products we enjoy daily.

Specific craft disciplines include instrumentation/electrical, millwright/machinist, pipefitting, and welding. Good skills to have include a strong work ethic, quick thinking abilities and analytical skills. Job conditions involve hands-on work, working in teams and working on computers. Excellent communications skills (verbal, written and listening) and eye for spotting unsafe conditions are valuable.
