What is needed for a name change?

Please submit a copy of one of the following by Email , Fax or via US Postal Service.

  • For an individual:  Marriage License, Divorce Decree or a copy of recorded document indicating name change.
  • Company/Corporation: Certificate of Name Change (Also include IRS Form W-9 )  
  • Merger:  Certificate of Merger (Also include IRS Form W-9 )

How do I change my address?

When are checks/ACH/Wire Transfers sent out?

  • Checks are normally sent out on the 19th of the month.
  • ACH/Wire Transfers generally are sent out on the 20th of the month.
  • When the 19th or 20th falls on a Saturday or a holiday, payment is sent out on the previous business day.  If the 19th or 20th falls on a Sunday, payment is sent out the following business day.

I lost/destroyed my check, how can I get it reissued?

  • Please allow 10 business days to receive your check.

Why is the amount on my 1099 different from what I was actually paid?

  • By law, Shell Trading is required to report gross earnings/income to the Internal Revenue Service.  Details of your annual earnings can be found printed on the back of your 1099.
  • To verify payments please visit Oildex .  If you feel you have lost, misplaced or are missing a check, please contact our Customer Service line at 1 (800) 992-8470.

What documents do I need to submit for deceased owner?

If the Will is being probated in the state and county where the decedent’s interest is located, the following will be needed to establish the new ownership of such interest:

  • A copy of the Letters of Authority granted to an executor or administrator to whom payment of the decedent’s interest can be made pending settlement of the estate, along with a copy of the will.
  • A copy of the Final Decree providing for distribution of the decedent’s interest along with a copy of the Estate Tax Release.

If the Will is not being probated in the state and county where the decedent’s interest is located, we are required to consider the laws of descent and distribution for that state.

  • A person other than a relative or an heir to the decedent’s estate must complete an Affidavit of Heirship (forms can also be found free online or purchased at your local office supply store).
  • Upon completion of all applicable questions, the affidavit should be notarized, recorded in the county where the lease is located and returned to our office along with a copy of the Death Certificate.
