A Great Week at Indianapolis 500 for Helio
Shell V-Power IndyCar driver, Helio Castroneves piloted the No. 3 Shell V-Power Chevrolet to a top-10 finish in one of the most exciting races in the running of the Indianapolis 500‘s 96 year history. The race, won by Dario Franchitti, saw a record number of lead changes in a thrilling competition for the honor to drink the famed Indy 500 milk. Helio, a three-time Indy 500 champion, remains in second place in the overall IndyCar point standings.
“It was a great, fun race, filled with a lot of action and excitement,” said Helio. “Of course we would have loved to end up in victory lane, but the Indy 500 is a tough one. It’s always a great experience here in Indianapolis and it’s certainly been an exciting week here for me and the rest of the Shell V-Power team.”
The race topped off a big week for Helio, as just a few days earlier he surprised Indy 500 fans at a local Shell station by filling their tanks for free with Shell V-Power Premium Gasoline and giving out race tickets to the delight of the Shell customers. Helio then received a surprise of his own when Penske Racing teammate, Ryan Briscoe, arrived to get his tank filled.
“I really enjoyed getting an opportunity to meet some of the fans that support me every week,” Helio commented. “It was so much fun interacting with fans and filling their tanks with Shell V-Power advanced gasoline. I never expected Ryan to show up as well; it was a heck of a day overall!”
