With driver AJ Allmendinger making his debut on the No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil Dodge team, and IndyCar superstar Helio Castroneves behind the wheel of the No. 3 Shell-Pennzoil Dallara/Honda, 2012 promises to be another memorable season in the illustrious history of Shell racing.

Allmendinger, who comes off a career-best season where he missed the Chase by just one spot, had four top-10 finishes in his last eight races, is bringing a new style of driving and passion for racing to the No.22 Shell-Pennzoil Dodge team. Most recently, AJ Allmendinger drove the final leg of the Rolex 24 in Daytona – helping the team (Michael Shank Racing) take the checkered flag to victory!

"This is a big step for my career, and the opportunity to drive the No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil Dodge will give me a real chance to compete for a title,” said Allmendinger. “Shell has a storied history in racing, and I’m very excited to be representing them on and off the track throughout the year."

In addition, IndyCar star Helio Castroneves will be piloting the Shell V-Power car and wearing the iconic red and yellow Shell colors during three races this season, including the legendary Indianapolis 500 in May.  Other races during which Castroneves will feature Shell V-Power livery include the season-opening race in St. Petersburg, Fla. on Mar. 25, as well as races in Indianapolis on May 27 and Detroit on June 3.

The three-time Indianapolis 500 champion looks to build on a season in which he finished 11th in the IndyCar field.

"I had so much fun working with Shell last year, particularly around the Indianapolis 500,” said Castroneves. “The chance to meet with race fans at a local Shell station was one of my highlights of the season, and I’m looking forward to an even more successful year in 2012."
