Community Service
Shell Deer Park plays an active role in the surrounding community. Community members are welcome to join the staff of Shell Deer Park in their community outreach activities. If you are interested in participating, please contact Shell’s Community Relations representatives at 713-246-6247. Take a look below at some of the things Shell Deer Park is involved with.
Shell Deer Park staff hold leadership positions in several community organizations, including Local Emergency Planning Committees (LEPCs), Channel Industries Mutual Aid, volunteer fire departments, Deer Park Chamber of Commerce, East Harris County Manufacturers Association, Houston Regional Monitoring, Texas Chemical Council, Wheelhouse, Bridge Over Troubled Waters and the Deer Park Educational Foundation.
We also are a founding member of the Deer Park Community Advisory Council, have been a partner-in-education with Deer Park High School for more than 10 years, and support the Science Teachers' Institute conducted at the University of Houston.
Shell Deer Park supports events that highlight the diverse cultures in the Houston area. For example, the Susan G. Komen Foundation's Race for the Cure and the United Negro College Fund's black-tie gala.
Health and social problems are addressed by Shell Deer Park's strong support of activities like the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, the Houston Food Bank's programs to end hunger, and The Bridge Over Troubled Waters that shelters thousands of women and children each year.

Deer Park bikers ride for kids
About 25 Shell Deer Park employees, several with passengers, took part in the annual "Ride For Kids" motorcycle tour on April 30 to benefit the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.
As members of Shell on Wheels, they wore distinctive club t-shirts and rode as a group with nearly 1,000 other motorcyclists on a 40-mile route. The 70-member Shell Deer Park club was formed earlier this year to participate in Houston-area charity events and "fun" rides.
