Shell LubeVideoCheck

Shell VideoCheck is a state-of-the-art digital fiber optic method of inspecting difficult-to-access internal engine components, including the cylinder head, valves, cylinder walls and piston crown, without dismantling the engine itself.

How does it work?
A videoscope, or miniature digital camera, is fed into the engine and transmits pictures to a high resolution monitor.

It’s a cost-effective, efficient and non-invasive way of inspecting engine components that minimizes the time and costs associated with engine tear down and downtime.

Can it provide greater cost and time savings?

Yes. VideoCheck allows for engine assessment without complete engine tear down, saving both time and money. It may also identify potential damage or problems in the engine and can provide visual indication of lubricant performance.

• Standard diesel engine inspection of piston crown, combustion chamber, cylinder walls, and valves/head
• Recorded video images of key components
• Customer report including key findings, observations, diagnosis, and recommendations, if any
• Ongoing tracking of customer benefits as part of Shell Fleet Management Program
• Most benefits are delivered when VideoCheck is used with Shell LubeAnalysis™ Oil Condition Monitoring
  

Can it be used with all engine types?

VideoCheck can be used with both diesel and gas engines where fuel injectors or spark plugs can be removed.
