Did you know that Shell conducted a 5,000-mile road test to test the difference in gasolines?

Using two identical cars, one filled with Shell gasoline, the other filled with low-quality discount gasolines, the Passionate Experts set out on a 5,000-mile journey to test the difference in fuels. The results of the road test showed that the engine using low-quality discount gasolines built up eight times more gunk than the engine using Shell gasoline.

What are additives?

Additives are cleaning agents designed to prevent the build-up of gunk on critical engine parts such as intake valves and fuel injectors.  The concentration, quality, and cleaning power of a gasoline's additive package vary from brand to brand.

What are Gasoline Components?

Gasoline is composed of a base fuel and additives.  Base fuel may be similar among brands, but the additives are what differentiate each brand.
