Quaker State Driver Notches Another Top-10 Finish with Eighth-Place Run at Williams Grove
The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series returned to the famed Williams Grove Speedway this past weekend for the National Open. Racing action was scheduled to kick off on Friday but rains forced the cancellation of the evening's events with concentration shifting to the finale on Saturday with the winner taking home a $50,000 prize.
Kinser has won the National Open on four occasions and had 38 wins at the famed semi-banked half-mile track to his credit. In addition, the King of Outlaws has well over 100 top-10 finishes at the track.
Saturday's activities began with qualifying where the Bloomington, Indiana native qualified the Quaker State Maxim in the 16th position. Kinser went on to finish his heat race in the 11th position forcing him to compete in the 12-lap B-main to transfer into the feature event. With a second-place finish in the B-main, Kinser transferred to the A-main. After starting in the 16th spot, the 20-time champion powered his way into the top-10 in the 40 laps of competition and finished in the eighth position.
The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series returns to action next weekend at Rolling Wheels Raceway in Elbridge, New York. Racing action is set for Saturday, October 10.
