Twenty-Time Champion Continues Consistent Run Toward Record 21st Championship.
The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series rounded out a busy month of racing with a stop across the border for two nights of racing action at Ohsweken Speedway in Ontario, Canada. Following the trip north the series then moved back to the states to kick of the month of August with an event at K-C Raceway in Alma, Ohio.
Kinser who has finished fourth or better in every race at the 3/8-mile of Ohsweken qualified his Quaker State Maxim in the ninth position during the first night of competition. The 20-time champion went on to finish second in his heat race followed by a fifth-place finish in the Crane Cams Dash. With that run, Kinser started the 30-lap A-main from the third row before earning a top-five finish in his Quaker State Maxim by taking the checkered flag in the fourth spot.
The second night of competition proved to be another good showing for Kinser and the Quaker State team with the Bloomington, Indiana native qualifying in the 10th position and finishing second once again in his heat race. A sixth-place run in the Crane Cams Dash gave the 20-time World of Outlaws champion a great starting spot for the main event. After 30 laps of racing action, Kinser wound up in the 10th spot with his Quaker State Maxim.
Following the trip across the border the series moved back south for a stop at KC-Raceway in Ohio. Kinser had three career wins at the high-banked 3/8-mile bullring going into Saturday’s event.
With a 12th-place qualifying run and a second-place finish in his heat race, Kinser went on to finish in the runner-up spot in the Crane Cams Dash earning a front-row starting position in the A-main. After starting the race in the second position, Kinser battled for the lead but could not make the pass. In the closing laps of the 40-lap event he again found himself in a battle but this time for the second spot. The Indiana native was able to hold on to the runner-up position for the checkered flag and earn his 24th top-five finish of the season.
The 20-time series champion has racked up 36 top-10 finishes this season with 24 of those being top-five performances. He remains fourth in the championship point standings.
The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series will return to action with the inaugural Ironman 55 Friday, August 7 and Saturday, August 8 at I-55 Raceway near St. Louis, Missouri.
