Quaker State Driver Scores 22nd Top-Five Finish of the Season

Kinser

Following another busy week of racing, Quaker State driver Steve Kinser turned in mixed results after competing at three different tracks. The first stop for the series was at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania for the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup.

Following that event the series headed to central Pennsylvania for the Summer Nationals at the famed Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Virginia for what was two nights of scheduled racing action with the weekend rounded out by a stop at the fast high-banked half-mile of Lebanon Valley Speedway in New York.

Kicking off the week was the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup where Kinser was the defending champion. Unfortunately rain postponed the event from Tuesday to Wednesday but the cars were able to take to the track on the second attempt. After qualifying 16th, Kinser took the win in his heat race.

A seventh-place finish in the Crane Cams Dash put the 20-time champion in the fourth row for the feature event where he finished 13th.

The series moved on to the famed Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania to kick the weekend off with the Summer Nationals. Kinser came out of the box strong on the first night of competition qualifying his Quaker State Maxim in the third position and bringing home a third-place run in his heat race.

Starting the A-main in the 11th spot, Kinser ended up 12th after 25 laps of competition at the semi-banked half-mile track.

The second night of competition was eventually cancelled after three rain delays and several attempts to work the track back in. With over half the program completed the A-feature will be run on Friday, October 2 when the series returns to the historic half-mile track.

Next up was a stop at the high-banked half-mile of Lebanon Valley Speedway where Kinser has won nine times in his career. The Bloomington, Indiana native started the main event from the pole after winning the Crane Cams Dash and ran in the second spot for the entirety of the 25-lap race.

With his runner-up finish the 20-time champion earned his 22nd top-five finish of the season aboard the Quaker State Maxim.

The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series heads north to Ohswekend Speedway in Ohsweken, Ontario, Canada next for a double-header beginning on Tuesday, July 28th. After two nights of competition there the series will head back to the states to Chilicothe, Ohio and the K-C Raceway on August 1st.
