Twenty-Time Champion Extends Series Lead of Most Top-10's to 29.
The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series was busy this past week with three events in five days. The Series made a mid-week stop at 34 Raceway in Iowa followed by two weekend events at Charter Raceway Park in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin on Saturday and Cedar lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin on Sunday. Kinser came out of the trio with two top-five finishes all while extending his series-leading top-10 finishes to 29.
After finishing second in last year's event at the high-banked 3/8-mile, Kinser entered Wednesday's race at 34 Raceway with hopes of notching another win for the season. After qualifying the Quaker State Maxim in the 17th position the 20-time champion came back and finished sixth in his heat race. The Bloomington, Indiana native had to compete in the B-main to qualify for the feature event and took the win to advance. Kinser started the A-main from the 17th position and gained four spots in the 35 laps of competition to finish 13th for the evening.
Entering Saturday's event at Charter Raceway Park as the defending race winner, Kinser hoped for better results than Wednesday night. With a ninth-place qualifying run and a win in his heat race the Quaker State driver got off to a good start. Kinser followed those up with a second-place finish in the Crane Cams Dash to earn a front row starting position in the A-main. The 20-time champion battled early in the race for the second spot before settling into third where he took the checkered flag.
In the final night of competition, the Quaker State driver had another strong showing qualifying eighth and winning his heat race again. Kinser finished seventh in the Crane Cams Dash at the high-banked 3/8-mile of Cedar Lake Speedway putting him in the fourth row for the start of the 30-lap A-main. Gaining a couple of positions before the checkered flag waved, the Indiana native brought his Quaker State Maxim home to a fifth-place finish.
The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series continues a busy schedule as they take on three events in the next week. The first stop is another mid-week race at Limaland Motorsports Park in Lima, Ohio on Wednesday, July 15 followed by a double-header over the weekend on Friday and Saturday night, July 17 - 18 at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio.
