Friday's Event at Huset's Speedway Falls to Rain
The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series headed north to the upper Midwest for the holiday weekend for two scheduled events. The first stop was at Huset's Speedway in South Dakota on Friday, July 3 followed by a stop at Eagle Raceway in Nebraska on Saturday. However, Mother Nature changed plans as rain forced the cancellation of Friday's event at Huset's with the Quaker State team turning their attention to the race at Eagle Raceway on Saturday night.
Going into Saturday's event, Kinser had an unmatched record at the high-banked 1/3-mile track of Eagle Raceway with 24 career wins including 15 A-feature events. With his most recent victory coming in 2005, the Quaker State driver was hoping to add another win and gain some points in the championship battle.
After qualifying the Quaker State Maxim in the sixth position, the 20-time champion went on to finish third in his heat race. Starting from the sixth row in the 12th position the Bloomington, Indiana native had his work cut out for him with only 40 laps in the A-main. Kinser was able to gain a spot and finish just outside the top-10 in the 11th position.
Next up for the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series is a midweek stop at 34 Raceway in Burlington, Iowa on Wednesday, July 8. After a few days off the series will move on to the state of Wisconsin for an event at Charter Raceway Park in Beaver Dam on Saturday, July 11 followed by a stop at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond on Sunday, July 12 to round out the weekend.
