Twenty-time Champion Continues March Toward 21st Series Title
Rounding out a busy month of racing action, the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series took to the track for two nights of intense racing action with stops at the U.S. 36 Raceway for the Missouri High-Banked Nationals on Friday, June 26 and Knoxville Raceway on Saturday, June 27. Quaker State's Steve Kinser picked up two more top-10 finishes over the two nights of racing extending his series lead to 27 for the season.
The Bloomington, Indiana native kicked off the weekend with a 12th-place qualifying run at the high-banked 3/8-mile of U.S. 36 Raceway. A win in his heat race advanced the Quaker State driver into the Crane Cams Dash where he finished ninth earning himself a fourth-row starting position for the A-main. The 20-time champion was able to pick up a couple of positions in the 35-lap feature finishing seventh for the evening adding to his growing string of top-10 finishes.
The Series moved on to Knoxville Raceway for Saturday night's action where Kinser has won nearly 60 times over the last 31 years. After qualifying in the ninth position, the Quaker State driver won his heat race for the second night in a row and finished in the runner-up spot in the Crane Cams Dash. That second-place finish earned him a front-row starting spot for the A-Main. After starting from the second position, Kinser finished the 25-lap feature in the fourth spot in his Quaker State Maxim bringing his current total of top-10 finishes to 27.
The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series will celebrate the Fourth of July holiday with two nights of racing action beginning on Friday, July 3 at Huset's Speedway in Brandon, South Dakota. Following the Huset's event will be racing action at Eagle Raceway in Eagle, Nebraska on Saturday, July 4.
